Ultramarathon mindset
2 hours
Working and supporting the development of a successful business is not a sprint. It's an ultramarathon!
An ultramarathon is any running event longer than a marathon (42.195 kilometers). Ultramarathons can be divided into two types: distance and time ultramarathons. Distance ultramarathons require participants to cover a certain distance, while timed ultramarathons require participants to run as many kilometers as possible in a given time. 50km, 100km, 50 miles and 100 miles are the more common ultramarathon distances.
Edgars Lapiņš, manager of technology change projects and teams, strategic marketing and communications professional, founder of the SkeptiCafe movement for critical thinking and science promotion, who has run more than 30 ultramarathons, offers an inspirational lecture on how to mentally and physically overcome challenges.
In this lecture about:
- how to motivate yourself and not give up;
- how to learn not only to love difficulties, but also to recharge from them;
- what can be learned in business from another discipline;
- a story of preparation, planning, overcoming mental difficulties, a self-motivating mindset;
- what can be learned from it and applied in everyday life when we face mentally and physically difficult challenges.
