ABC of an effective leader (Level II)

Working with people presents today's managers with ever-new challenges. Technological development, globalization, isolation, constant change and staff shortages are just a few of them. Consequently, the development of leadership skills is becoming a necessary and continuous process.


What motivates today's employees? What tools are available to managers? How to maintain a high level of team energy and focus? How to lead in conditions of uncertainty and constant change?

Active and interactive form of work; the course includes many discussions, practical exercises and tasks, during the analysis of which participants will gain theoretical insight into each of the topics. Middle-level managers with experience and basic knowledge in managing employees.


Program

In the first part of the course, we will talk about the context of change, role change and conditions for achieving excellent results. We will talk about Emotional Intelligence in team management and practice useful communication tools.


In the second part of the course, we will look for solutions to various complex, non-standard situations in the daily work of a manager, as well as talk about well-being and mental hygiene issues.


Session 1


Introduction. The VUCA world and management in conditions of uncertainty:

  • The VUCA concept, leadership and management in VUCA conditions.

  • The roles of a manager and an employee in the new world.

  • What is needed for an employee, manager and team to be effective in the VUCA world.


Change management:

  • How people perceive change, what helps them and what hinders their acceptance.

  • How to notice the need to support people in the change process, and apply appropriate strategies.

  • The role and tools of a manager in change management.

  • How to direct an employee towards development.


Session 2

Emotional intelligence in the work of a manager:


  • Emotions in our lives. What is emotional intelligence and its basic principles.

  • What emotions tell us, their impact on the quality of work and what to do with them.

  • Perception and display of emotions at work. Emotionally intelligent manager, colleague, employee. Emotionally intelligent team.


Session 3

Complex conversations and manager communication. Working with participant situations.

  • 21st century feedback.

  • Conflict resolution.

  • Negotiations about money.

  • Negotiations about motivation.

  • Toxic behavior and negotiations about it.

  • How to practically combine firmness and humanity in a conversation.


Session 4

  • Resource renewal and self-motivation.

  • Manager and employee well-being and work-life balance.

  • Resource renewal and mental hygiene.

  • Conclusion, conclusions and mutual feedback
