Authentic leadership
In the international environment, the so-called “humble” or humble leadership style is becoming more and more convincing, where the leader is no longer the “main” one. The role of leadership is not so much to control performance as to strengthen the resources of one’s team, to create and maintain an environment that encourages each individual to recognize, open up and develop the best in themselves.
How to achieve this and what is needed for this? Leadership development experts mention authenticity as the most essential competency in the TOP 10 list of 21st-century leadership competencies. What does it mean?
Authenticity is the ability to be who you are when leading people and situations. It includes the courage not to be perfect, self-understanding and awareness of your potential, as well as not being afraid to make mistakes but to think of mistakes as an opportunity for growth.
