5 questions for Jekaterina Mehtijeva

1. What are you??

A teacher of a variety of training, a creative workshop facilitator, but above everything else - someone who enjoys life.

2. A book that you would recommend others to read – why??

Factfulness: Ten Reasons We're Wrong About the World-and Why Things Are Better Than You Think. Through analysis and examples based on facts, this book superbly opens up the view to the fact that everything is changing for the better in the world, in opposition to our everyday thinking that “the grass was greener earlier”.

3. TEDx talk, which one do you recommend watching – why?

Matt Cutts: Try Something New for 30 Days.

This discussion reminds us every so often that we have to purposefully let a new interest or activity into our lives. It's about the fact that you can experience your life, not just live it.

4. What inspires you and gives you energy?

Every so often I need different energy – sometimes for inspiration, sometimes for peace and sometimes for recharging. And I have been fortunate that I have found sources of inspiration for each energy that has been necessary - nature for peace, to be moving (most often riding a skateboard) – for emotional recharging and to get rid of a bad mood, and conversations with friends – to obtain new ideas etc.

5. Why are you interested in sales?

I'm convinced that a great deal of our everyday discussions are indirectly connected with sales – whether this is a discussion at work to specifically increase the priority of your own project, or whether this is a discussion at home about whose turn it is to wash the dishes, or a conversation with the children who want their wishes to be granted, regardless of whether they correspond with the wishes of their parents or not. From the time that I began to learn the art of sales and algorithms many years ago, and tried to apply the knowledge I had obtained, in my life outside of work as well – it was clear to me, this is IT – my – thing.
